Mobile Nudie-pop baby

Nudie-pop baby likes to explore the garden...
...and walk down the driveway...
The farm gave us an amazing bounty this week: onions, potatoes, beets, basil, cabbage, and fava beans. Here is the amazing meal we made for Sunday night: stewed potatos and onions in an Ethiopian Berber sauce, roasted beets, and grilled Sea Bass (delivered from Maine when Mimi visited!)! Yum!
When Sawyer was born, we re-purposed my old messenger bag to lug his gear around. It has always been a little awkward to carry- we finally decided to get a little backpack for the purpose. We decided to plan ahead an get a little backpack that Sawyer might carry himself. Here he is trying it on. It is truly a tiny backpack but is longer than his entire torso!
Sawyer loves to walk to the neighborhood ponds (see previous pics of walking down the driveway). This requires walking down our driveway and across the street. We have been working on street-safety. He is learning the steps he needs to take before we walk into the street.

And finally...Sawyer's mobility is swiftly entering new dimensions. This new skill means that all our kitchen counters are accessible to the little guy- oy!

Park time

After a couple really rough weeks Sawyer has kicked pink eye, a five day fever (101-105!), and an ear infection. This little guy is building a super duper immune system- or so we hope! It was great to get back to the park and romp around. Here are some pics...

July wildflowers

Okay, this post isn't about Sawyer. This Sunday I endulged in an amazing early morning hikes in the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. The wildflowers were absolutely breathtaking. Dezi was good company.

Heat relief

It has been pretty blazing hot here but Sawyer knows how to cool off!

Mimi visits

Hey Mimi

Got any pics from your visit???

I went to France for a week for work and Mimi, one of Sawyer's three grandmothers came out for the week to help out with Sawyer. Sawyer loved spending time with her and is still asking for "Mimi" especially when he is on the cool swing she got for him during his visit!

We just don't have any pictures!

BethEllen and Elton John

Okay- so it is an odd combination- BethEllen and Elton John... My dear friend passed through Boulder on her way to a wedding and stayed with us. We finally got to meet her younger boy, Charlie (6 months). It was a nice, though too brief, visit.
And here is where Elton John comes in... Sawyer's teacher Miss Katie likes to paint the kids faces every now and again. The other day Sawyer came home with these giant white specs with blue star embellishments... too cute!
