Rifle weekend

We had a great weekend celebrating Father's Day. We went to Rifle for some camping and climbing. First of all, Sawyer was a pretty great travel companion: a sleeper (our favorite kind!)
We went with Sacha, Diane, and Amato. On Saturday Diane and I got a half day climbing in while the guys watched the boys and then we had the boys in the afternoon while Dan and Sacha climbed. We still have some kinks to work out with this system but we are pretty hopeful to use a system like this so that we can all climb.

Sawyer absolutely loved, loved, loved camping. He played hard- stayed muddy- and slept well- (even through an epic thunderstorm that rivaled any I have ever witnessed). Whenever we had to put Sawyer in the tent (naps, bedtime, rain deluge) he begged to go back outside.
We also took the time to visit the Rifle fish hatchery. No pics here, but it was an amazing visit where we learned about the 3 million (!) fish that this hatchery raises from eggs to be used to stock Colorado rivers, streams, and lakes. We also don't have any climbing pictures but here are some snaps of our visit to Rifle Falls at the end of the trip.

Happy Father's Day to one and all!

Children's Museum/ Hiding

So, despite my best intentions, it looks like I just haven't been able to keep up with posting every week. I am going to try to make it happen- but this is the result- three posts in one night- at least there are pictures for you to see!

This weekend, Diane and I took Sawyer and Amato to Denver's Children's museum. They had fun.

Despite the fact that Sawyer has utterly loved playing peekaboo for months and months it is only recently that he has started playing this way:

Family photo- almost

Happy birthday, Omi! We celebrated my mom's birthday with a great dinner at our favorite Ethiopian restaurant. It was yummy and very nice- we just were sad that my dad had to be back in DC. Here is a pic after our celebration.

Estes Park

Last week my family came out for a very nice visit. We spent the weekend in a little cabin up in Estes Park. Here are some pics.
